You’ll find out that we’re pretty high on the Jags this season.

The reports out of camp have been glowing, not just about Brian Thomas Jr. or Parker Washington, but about this Jags offence as a whole under second-year head coach Liam Coen.

The Jags are entering a season that has shades of the 2024-25 Detroit Lions and the 2025-26 Denver Broncos.

Let us explain:

Offensive coordinator Grant Udinski and defensive coordinator Anthony Campinile were both being interviewed for head coaching jobs this off-season, and while it remains unknown whether they would’ve actually landed a job, they didn’t leave anyone a choice as they both removed themselves from consideration to return to the Jags.

If Jacksonville has another successful season, everyone knows that both Udinski and Campinile are likely on their way out the door.

That’s very reminiscent of the Lions a couple of seasons ago, who took an “all-in” approach as an organization, knowing Ben Johnson and Aaron Glenn were likely in their final season as coordinators.

After going 13-4 last season and winning the AFC South, the Jags are expected to make a jump. How big of a jump is anyone’s guess, but that reminds us of the Broncos from last year with Bo Nix entering his second season in Sean Payton’s scheme and the Broncos maintaining a ton of continuity across the roster.

The Jags understand that this is a pivotal year. Trevor Lawrence showed he can play at an MVP-calibre level, the offence is juiced with talent, and Campinile elevated the defence into a respectable unit in his first season.

Their core is back, and their coaches are back. Not to mention, this isn’t the most daunting schedule for a team that finished first in their division last season.

It’s wheels up in Duval County. This needs to be an all-in year.
