šŸšØšŸˆ NFL futures bet

An MVP-calibre addition to our 2025-26 card

Good afternoon, folks.

Congratulations, you survived the spring and summer, and will be rewarded with football tonight.

Today’s newsletter goes beyond tonight, though.

We’re making an important addition to our futures card for this NFL season.

Just a reminder, we already have the following plays on our futures card:

Buffalo Bills to win AFC (1 unit)

New Orleans Saints - worst regular season record (1 unit)

Zach Charbonnet to lead Seahawks in rushing TDs this season (1 unit)

Mike Vrabel to win Coach of the Year (1 unit)

James Pearce Jr. to win Defensive Rookie of the Year (1 unit)

We have added Joe Burrow to win Most Valuable Player (1 unit).

This is a play I’ve been mulling over for quite some time now, and I didn’t elect to add to our first group of futures bets because I didn’t see the Cincinnati Bengals reaching the playoffs.

While I’m still not completely sold that the Bengals reach the post-season, at 7-1, this is a bet with enough value to warrant taking a shot.

Here’s the reality of the Bengals’ season: if they are to make the playoffs, Burrow will need to go nuclear, much like he did last year when Cincy won five-straight games to end the regular season.

Burrow’s stretch of dominance went beyond that winning streak. From Week 9 on, he recorded 28 touchdown passes to six interceptions, while averaging 325 yards and a 109.9 passer rating.

Despite the Bengals failing the reach the playoffs, Burrow’s name was still firmly in the MVP race.

With the Bengals’ defence not much improved since last season, he will need those kind of numbers once again if this team has any hope. And I’m buying everything this team is selling offensively this season.

Burrow has completed the best summer of his career, which included taking part in pre-season games, while his weapons remain among the best in the NFL.

His season outlook reminds me a lot of what reigning MVP Josh Allen had last year — a player who was forced to put up MVP-calibre numbers to support his team.

The Bengals’ playoff berth and Burrow's MVP candidacy are synonymous this season.

One more thing…

We have two plays for Week 1:

CIN @ CLE: teaser — CLE +11.0/ over 41.5 (2 units)

PIT @ NYJ: PIT -2.5 (2 units)

We will add one more play to our Week 1 card, and that will be released on Friday.

Good luck šŸ€
