🦅 Philadelphia Eagles -6.0 (vs. Los Angeles Rams) × 5 units

There’s a lot to like about the Eagles in this spot.

These two teams met back in Week 12 and the Eagles flew away with a 37-20 victory in LA. That was against a Rams team at nearly full strength, while Philly was down Devonta Smith and Jordan Davis.

Eagles were also three-point favourites in that matchup, so at -6.0 with the homefield advantage and the way these two teams currently sit, we believe this number is a bit short.

Staying with the Eagles, Jalen Hurts and the Eagles’ pass attack didn’t look great against a stingy Green Bay defence last weekend, but it didn’t need to, which was probably a positive for a quarterback playing his first game in a month.

Expect Hurts to be back in a groove this week.

As for the Rams, the defence impressed against Minnesota, but it will be yet another step up in class this week. The offence was in a prime position to excel with a veteran QB in Matthew Stafford capable of navigating the Vikings’ blitz-heavy defence, but this week will be different against Vic Fangio, who will play coverage while his front-four wrecks the game.

A final point, and we’re not sure how much you want to buy into this: it’s fair to wonder if the wildfires in LA were used as a source of motivation for the Rams last week. It’s been an emotional time, and an all-in effort on both sides of the ball was fitting.

It’s going to be tough to replicate that effort again this week, however, on the road, against an even stronger opponent in Philly, with the same situation potentially preventing the Rams from getting in a good week of practice.
